It is time to take a look at this week’s Bound Wisconsin Football Coaches Poll. Division assignment this year is based on official WIAA assignments released prior to the start of the season. Division 1
Arrowhead continues to dominate the competition and remains the top-ranked team in the state. Classic Eight foe Muskego moves ahead of Bay Port after the Warriors downed Catholic Memorial. There were a few other minor changes in the poll, but with no ranked D1 teams losing last week, therre are no teams in or out of the top ten.
Division 2
No changes in the top five of the Division 2 rankings, as Notre Dame continues to occupy the top spot. Menomonee Falls and Marshfield suffered their first losses of the year and slid down slightly in the rankings. Kaukauna is a big riser this week, going from ninth to sixth after an impressive win over a very good Neenah squad.
Division 3
With Catholic Memorial suffering a second loss in a row, this time to Muskego, it was going to be interesting to see if they stayed on top of the Division 3 Coaches Poll. It was close, but Pewaukee ascends to the number one ranking this week, as CMH is second, followed by Reedsburg, Port Washington and La Crosse Logan. Baldwin-Woodville and New Berlin West enter the rankings, as Portage and Waterford fall out.
Division 4
No changes in the top nine of the Division 4 Bound Wisconsin Coaches Poll, where Freedom is the top-ranked team. The only change comes at the bottom of the poll, where Delavan-Darien moves in while Denmark drops out.
Division 5
Darlington stays number one in Division 5, followed again by Lake Country Lutheran and Amherst. Racine Lutheran slides just ahead of Mayville for fourth. New Glarus fell to Darlington and drops from seventh to ninth. New Holstein falls out of the poll, replaced by Brillion, who beat New Holstein 41-7 this week.
Division 6
A new top team in Division 6, as Mondovi lost a close one to Edgar and slips all the way to sixth this week. That allows Regis to move to the top spot in D6. Bonduel is second, followed by Lomira, Edgar, and Manitowoc Lutheran in the top five. Kenosha St. Joseph, Prairie du Chien, and Randolph/Cambria-Friesland move into the poll this week.
Division 7
Cochrane-Fountain City is still the number one team in Division 7, but former second-ranked Lourdes Academy drops to ninth this week after an upset loss to Fall River/Rio. Pepin/Alma is up to second, followed by Glenwood City, Cashton, and Shiocton. Pacelli jumps into the poll this week along with Iowa-Grant.
8-Player
Gilman is the top-ranked team in 8-player again, though Assumption slides just ahead of Belmont for second. Valley Christian is up to fourth after an impressive win over Algoma. Suring moves into the poll this week.
Travis Wilson serves as the Bound Wisconsin Manager. Wilson was selected as part of the Sports 40 Under 40 list by Coach & AD Magazine and the National High School Athletic Coaches Association for 2019. The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) named Travis the 2015 recipient of the Dave McClain Distinguished Service Award. He currently serves on the WFCA Executive Board and is a member of the Executive Board of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. A graduate of Richland Center High School and Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Travis was a three-sport athlete in high school (football, baseball, basketball), inducted to the Richland Center High School Hall of Fame in 2023, and currently resides in Reedsburg.
