BOUND WISCONSIN WEEK 6 FOOTBALL TEAM OF THE WEEK NOMINEES
Berlin Indians
Berlin met up with Ripon on Friday night with first place in the South Central Conference on the line. The Indians won a hard-fought, low-scoring game 14-0, holding Ripon to just 95 yards of offense. Tannyon Klawitter threw a touchdown to Zander Beck, while Julian Busse ran for a score.
Delavan-Darien Comets
Delavan-Darien took control of the Rock Valley with a 32-22 win over previously undefeated Evansville on Friday night, moving into first place alone atop the league standings. Known for their high-powered passing attack, the Comets revved up the running game to the tune of 216 yards, led by 109 and four scores from Kevin O’Grady.
Janesville Craig Cougars
Janesville Craig won the Battle for Monterrey Rock 21-14 in overtime on Friday. Junior receiver Malachi Schoonover had a huge game, including the game-winning touchdown catch in overtime. He finished 11 catches for 187 yards and two touchdowns, adding 156 punt return yards.
Necedah Cardinals
Necedah ended the state’s longest active losing streak with a 14-7 victory over Brookwood on Friday. The Cardinals last won back in 2021, a streak that had reached 43 games overall and 32 games in conference play. The Cardinals defense had four interceptions to help secure the win.
West Bend West Spartans
West Bend West rebounded from a Week 5 loss with a 33-21 win over defending Division 3 state champion Grafton. Ryan Held threw three touchdowns for the Spartans, averaging more than 17 yards per completion. Tayecin Jimmerson ran for 213 yards on 27 carries.
Travis Wilson serves as the Bound Wisconsin Manager. Wilson was selected as part of the Sports 40 Under 40 list by Coach & AD Magazine and the National High School Athletic Coaches Association for 2019. The Wisconsin Football Coaches Association (WFCA) named Travis the 2015 recipient of the Dave McClain Distinguished Service Award. He currently serves on the WFCA Executive Board and is a member of the Executive Board of the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association. A graduate of Richland Center High School and Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Travis was a three-sport athlete in high school (football, baseball, basketball), inducted to the Richland Center High School Hall of Fame in 2023, and currently resides in Reedsburg.
