The Marathon girls basketball team has been selected as the Week 9 Bound Wisconsin Basketball Team of the Week following a statewide vote on BoundWisconsin.com. The team got a pair of wins last week, including one over a ranked opponent. The Red Raiders were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 9. A total of 769 votes were cast, as Marathon’s 282 votes edged Lake Country Lutheran girls basketball’s 193 votes.
Marathon defeated Division 5, sixth-ranked Assumption 50-41 in an important Marawood-South game last Tuesday. Senior Emma Love had a game-high 19 points to go with 15 rebounds. The Red Raiders had no trouble with Abbotsford later in the week, winning 82-41.

A graduate of Richland Center High School and Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Travis was a three-sport athlete in high school (football, baseball, basketball), inducted to the Richland Center High School Hall of Fame in 2023, and currently resides in Reedsburg.
