The Ithaca/Weston football team has been selected as the Week 4 Bound Wisconsin Football Team of the Week following a statewide vote on BoundWisconsin.com. The team rebounded from an early tragedy this year to score a big win on Friday night. They were chosen from a strong group of nominees in Week 4. A total of 5,734 votes were cast, as Ithaca/Weston’s 2,550 votes edged Fall River/Rio’s 2,082 votes.
It has been an emotional start to the 2026 season. The new co-op program experienced tragedy when freshman Briggs Maxwell passed away from a farm accident the morning of the second game of the year. The team and community have rallied, and in the first home game since then, Ithaca/Weston took down perennial contender Bangor 12-8. Spencer Nelson, Briggs’ first cousin, ran for 145 yards and a touchdown and added a team-high 12 tackles with a fumble recovery.
Remember folks, the only way your favorite team can be named Bound Wisconsin Team of the Week is to vote and share the word. Look for next week’s nominees to be posted Monday afternoon.
