Bound Wisconsin Basketball Team of the Week - Jan. 12-18

Brookfield East BBB

Brookfield East boys basketball went 3-0 last week, moving to 12-1 on the year. The Spartans took down crosstown rival Brookfield Central 74-65, with T.J. Platz, Ronje Horton, and Max McMullen scoring in double figures. They’d hammer West Allis Hale 93-42 as five players hit double digits. B’East finished the week with a 92-69 win over Homestead.

Iola-Scandinavia BBB

Iola-Scandinavia defeated Saint Mary Catholic 72-57 last Tuesday, an impressive non-conference win for the T-Birds. Junior Korz Loken, who recently committed to Wisconsin football, had 21 points and 19 rebounds. Five players scored in double figures in a 75-37 win over Shiocton.

Kickapoo BBB

It was quite a week for the Kickapoo boys basketball team. The Panthers had no trouble with New Lisbon early in the week, winning 77-42 as Malachi McCaulty erupted for 29 points. The top-ranked Panthers had a huge showdown with second-ranked rival North Crawford on Thursday, and it certainly lived up to the hype. Going to two overtimes, Kickapoo would score a thrilling 85-80 victory. Arlon Walter had 28 points with 19 rebounds in the win.

Shullsburg GBB

Shullsburg made history last week, defeating Barneveld 52-48, marking the first victory for the Miners over the Eagles in school history. Sophomore Hailey Alt had a game-high 17 points for the Miners. Earlier in the week, Shullsburg defeated Highland 46-43 as senior Alexis Alt led the way with 13 points.

Wittenberg-Birnamwood GBB

Wittenberg-Birnamwood took control of the CWC-East with a dominating 58-35 win over Bonduel last Tuesday, remaining undefeated in the league standings. Senior Melaina Granquist had a huge game with 26 points and 19 rebounds. Later in the week they’d beat Manawa 78-22 behind 27 points, 11 steals, eight assists, and five rebounds from senior Rory Salvesen.
