Boys Basketball Preseason All-State: Division 1, Class of 2027

Fox is one of the top uncommitted players in the state in the Class of 2027. The 6-0 guard will combine with teammate Max Jones to form one of the best backcourts in the entire state. Fox shined on a loaded team last year where he averaged 15.5 points. He’s one of the top passers in the state, indicative of his 6.4 assists per game a season ago. Fox currently holds Division 1 offers from Eastern Illinois and Jacksonville.

Jones joins is the top uncommitted player in the Class of 2027 though he holds D1 offers from Green Bay, Milwaukee, and a handful of other mid-majors. Having averaged 20.4 points per game on a team that featured the talent the Bulldogs do, Jones skillset spans the gamut as he can fly above the rim, score from the perimeter, and create his shot from nearly anywhere in the half court.

Jordan has been one of the top guards in this class since he was a freshman at Madison East where he averaged over 13 points per game. The ultimate competitor, Jordan is coming off a year where he earned first team all-Big Eight honors. La Follette has a good group of guards back this year and Jordan will be key in leading the Lancers as they look to contend for a Big Eight conference title. Jordan has given his commitment to Division 2 Augustana out of South Dakota.

The top player in the Class of 2027, Knueppel has shot up to 6-10 and boasts one of the best skillsets in the state. A lights out shooter, top of the line footwork, and an incredibly high IQ leaves no wonder why he’ll follow older brother Kon’s footsteps to Duke next year. The 2026-27 season will see Kager step into the alpha role with Wisconsin Lutheran after the graduation of Illinois commit and his cousin Zavier Zens. The Vikings are a favorite to win a fourth straight state championship and Knueppel is a huge reason why. He’s one of the pre-season favorites for the prestigious Mr. Basketball in Wisconsin as well.

Krause was a first team all-FVA selection a season ago and comes into this season as his second under the tutelage of head coach Kam Cerroni. At 6-5, Krause can do a bit of everything offensively and buys into the defensive side of the ball as well. He averaged 15.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game a season ago. The Papermakers will likely be contenders in the top half of the FVA this season and Krause will be the engine driving the ship.

Krueger is lanky wing that can score in bunches from anywhere on the court. The reigning Player of the Year in the Fox River Classic Conference, Krueger averaged 17.2 points and 5.0 rebounds per game a season ago, all while shooting over 46% from beyond the arc. He’s next in the long line of great players to come out of De Pere and is the leader for one of the top programs in the entire state. Krueger recently gave a commitment to D2 Michigan Tech.

Last season was derailed before it started for Luchetti, who suffered a season-ending leg injury in the preseason scrimmage, just days before the first game. He’s back and will be a focal point and leader for a Monona Grove team that is absolutely loaded. Luchetti is a three-level scorer that has no fear when attacking the rim, finishing up and through defenders of all sizes. At 6-7 his size puts him at an advantage to most who guard him. Luchetti is committed to Division 1 Northern Illinois.

The reigning Player of the Year in the Classic Eight conference, Resch can go and get a bucket on the basketball court. He is one of the fastest players in the state and is coming off a track and field season where he won gold in the 100 meter, 200 meter, and 100 meter relay at Arrowhead. A college track and field prospect, Resch excels on the hardwood where he averaged 21.3 points per game a season ago. He and teammate Blake Basich are one of the better backcourt duos in the state.

Stremlow shot up recruiting boards over the past two seasons and it resulted in a committed to Division 1 Northern Illinois. He is exactly what you want in a basketball player. He’s 6-4, works his tail off, and has improved his skillset year after year making him an almost impossible task to guard for opposing defenders. Stremlow attacks the rim relentlessly as he’s worked on his body adding strength to his frame. Verona will be one of the favorites in the Big Eight this season and Stremlow is a big reason why.

White is one of the top shooters in the state regardless of class of division. At 5-11 he can also get his shot up from anywhere, as proof by the fact that he made 103 three point attempts a season ago at a 40.9% clip. Don’t be fooled however as White can score off the bounce, getting downhill with his quickness and finishing in amongst the trees. He currently holds Division 1 offers from Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Eastern Illinois.

A point guard in all definition of the word, Basich is one of the best facilitators in the state going into 2026-27. Surrounded by plenty of talent at Arrowhead, Basich is one of the best at setting his teammates up for success and creating scoring opportunities for those around him. He averaged 12.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game last year with the Warhawks and was a first team All-Classic Eight selection.

When you talk about pure scorers, Busch fits that mold with Oak Creek. On top of that, he buys into the defensive side where he was not only a Classic Eight first team all-conference selection, but was named to the all-defensive team as well. Busch averaged 20.6 points per game a season ago. He is a knockdown shooter and at 6-1 a true competitor.

Fleege is back for a Neenah squad that will once again be solid, deep, and well coached. A second team All-FVA performer a season ago, he’ll look to build off a great club season season with the Wisconsin Playmakers. Neenah, like always, will compete at the top in the FVA and the 6-2 Fleege will lead the charge. A great two-sport athlete, Fleege has good balance and a wide skillset that allows him to effect the game in a handful of ways.

Kuepper will take over the top dog role this season with Hartford after the graduation of 1,000 point scorer Sam Richter. Despite standing under 6-0, Kuepper takes on the dog mentality from head coach Chris Smith, and is the epitome of a competitor. Kuepper can light it up from deep, as evident by his 62 made triples a season. That perimeter threat allows for him to take advantage of overzealous close outs with a pump fake and solid mid-range game. He averaged 14.2 points per game last season.

Case is going to be a team to watch in Division 1 this year with a plethora of underclassmen talent. The leader in the locker room however is Lewis, a returning first team All-Southeast selection that averaged 11.9 points and 6.3 rebounds a season ago. Lewis thrives in the open court and can finish in a handful of ways around the rim. On top of his offensive prowess, he can guard 94 feet.
