Boys Basketball Preseason All-State: Division 1, Class of 2029

Bowers is a pure knock down shooter that given any sort of space, makes defenses pay. As a freshman, he started 19 games for the Galloping Ghosts and averaged 11.2 points while connecting on 87 triples at a 45.8% shot make rate. He was an FVA honorable mention all-conference selection and is one of the top freshman in the state. Playing for his father Ryan, Drew has a great IQ and feel for the game, well ahead of his age. Kaukauna is one of the top teams in the FVA and Bowers is a key reason why.

Another sharp shooter in this 2029 class, Foeckler’s game is as versatile as it comes. He’s comfortable on ball or off ball for the Sabers as he can create for himself or others but also shows a knack for finding open space and cutting to the ball and establishing position. He was a third team All-Southeast selection as a freshman and with the graduation of Jacob Misslich, Foeckler is poised for a huge season for Coach Podoll’s squad.

Jackson is physically imposing as just a sophomore. He stand at 6-8 and looks the part when he steps on the court. As a freshman a season ago, he averaged 6.2 points and 3.8 rebounds for Monona Grove. Jackson’s skillset is ever improving, as are the intangibles. He can play in the pick and roll, square up from outside the arc or down near the paint, and is also a deterrent around the rim. The Silver Eagles are loaded going into the 2026-27 season and Jackson is likely to break out even more than he already has.

Kash is the fourth of five Knueppel brothers to come through Wisconsin Lutheran and spent a majority of last season playing sparingly on the varsity level. Like his brothers before him, he’s got a great mind for the game and understands spacing, leverage, and footwork better than most of his peers. After waiting in the wings as a freshman, Knueppel may see that role expand though the Vikings are loaded with talent across the board, so there won’t be a huge ask on Kash to step in and be that go-to scorer right off the jump.

McMullen is considered by most as the top player in the state in the Class of 2029. As a freshman, he started for Brookfield East in the difficult Greater Metro conference and was a first team all-conference selection after he averaged 17.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game. Just 6-0, McMullen plays well above his height and has an advanced skillset with the ball that larger defenders aren’t a deterrent. He’s a ball dominant guard that is shifty and can create any shot he wants, but also facilitates extremely well. McMullen has garnered interest from plenty of Division 1 schools already and currently holds an offer from Milwaukee.
