Boys Basketball Preseason All-State: Division 1, Class of 2028

Cohen has had an incredible club season this past spring and is poised for an even bigger year with the Redbirds. He’s a lanky 6-2 with room to grow and already a solid skillset with the ball in his hands. As a sophomore he averaged 9.5 points for a De Pere team that advanced to the state tournament. Cohen picked up Division 1 offers from Green Bay and Toledo this past spring and likely has more coming after another strong school season.

The third Knueppel brother to go through Wisconsin Lutheran, Kinston continues to develop his game. Like older brothers Kon and Kager, Kinston’s IQ, footwork, and patience set him apart from his peers. He sits at 6-7 and has grown in confidence and aggressiveness over the past few season. He was a second team Woodland-West selection last year after averaging 10.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. Kinston holds offers from Davidson, Toledo, and Wake Forest, a list which will likely grow in quick succession.

Rosplochowski came out to the statewide audience this past March, where he had 19 points on six of eleven shooting in a state tournament semifinal. On a team that had a loaded senior group a season ago, Rosplochowski led the team with 18.6 points per game and was a second team all-FVA performer. The 6-3 smooth lefty is poised for an even bigger junior season and currently holds offers from Division 2 Northern Michigan and D1 schools Central Michigan and Milwaukee.

One of the top juniors in the state, Schwalbach averaged 15.6 points per game a season ago and was a WBCA All-State honorable mention selection. He stands at 6-3 and is a combo guard that can score off his own creation, while also facilitating for others. Schwalbach is quick which he utilizes on the defensive side of the ball and also offensively where he gets his shot off almost at will. He also holds a D2 offer from Northern Michigan and D1 offers from in-state Green Bay and Milwaukee.

Turner is a game wrecker at 6-5. The wing prospect scores the ball at a high clip, rebounds above defenders, and is a willing facilitator when defenses collapse on him. Turner is explosive when he gets downhill and does not shy away from finishing above the rim and through defenders. A season ago he averaged 16.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 9.5 assists per game while Oak Creek competed in the tough Classic Eight conference.

Buhr is a strong athlete that dominated action at times as a sophomore with Sheboygan North. He averaged 15.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game and is one of the more well-rounded players in this class. Buhr is 6-5, can score from all three levels and is a versatile and elite defender.

Jackson will pair with Will Stremlow and serve as one of the better back courts in Division 1. He exploded on to the season with the Wildcats a season ago where he earned honorable mention all-conference honors in the Big Eight. Just 5-11, he plays well above his height. He’s aggressive, confident, and effects the game in a multitude of ways with his combination of skillset and effort.

Earning first team All-Southeast Conference honors is no small feat, but that is exactly what Jones did last year after averaging 17.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. He and Mikey White are an electric back court duo for Bradford that, though undersized, utilize their quickness and shot making abilities to put constant pressure on opposing defenses. Jones lived at the free throw line where he made 97 of 128 in 26 games played.

Kwapil is having a big season on the gridiron as Racine Case is excelling in late September. He’s poised for a big season come the winter as well, but on the hardwood. A talented junior group at Case, Kwapil stands at 6-5 and is a talented an versatile wing due to his size, length, and athletic ability. He’s a good rebounder, can score in and around the rim, and utilizes his frame well to get to his scoring spots.

Newman got to show signs of his promise as a sophomore last season, but will be stepping into a bigger role with the Vikings come November. He is a pass-first point guard and thrives in creating scoring opportunities for his teammates, something that will be super beneficial for a Vikings group that is full to the brim with talented scorers.

Parks was a second team All-Big Eight performer as a sophomore a season ago after averaging nearly 15 points per game. A talented player on the football field, Parks is strong and uses his 6-3 frame to bully his way to his spot on the floor and score over bigger defenders. He’s got great hands and touch around the rim and a variety of different finishes he utilizes in the paint.

Stewart is a skilled lefty combo guard that is comfortable scoring from all three levels on the basketball court. If given any space going right, he excels with his pull up shot off the right handed dribble. A second team All-Big Eight performer as a sophomore, he averaged 16.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game a season ago.
